Waterproof Phone Case, IPX8 Certified 30M Waterproof Phone Pouch (2 Pack) 15566

I recently had the opportunity to thoroughly test the Ugreen 15566 Waterproof Phone Case (2-pack), a clear case promising IPX8 certification and 30-meter waterproof protection. Given my love for underwater photography and general water-adjacent activities, I was eager to see if it lived up to the hype.

The Ugreen 15566 boasts several features designed for underwater use and all-around protection. The IPX8 certification and claimed 30-meter depth rating are prominent, alongside the promise of crystal-clear underwater photography. The large size accommodates even the biggest phones, including my iPhone 14 Pro Max. The touch sensitivity was also a selling point, something that often suffers in waterproof cases.

My testing involved several scenarios: submersion in a pool at various depths, taking photos and videos underwater, and using the phone in rainy conditions. The case performed admirably in all scenarios. The seal held strong, even at depths beyond what I expected for everyday use. While the touch sensitivity was slightly diminished underwater, as noted in the product description, it was still perfectly usable. Image quality underwater was surprisingly good, though some slight distortion was noticeable at greater depths. The case protected my phone completely from water damage. In rain, the functionality remained perfect, and there were absolutely no issues with water ingress.

One noteworthy point: I tested the case with my phone already in a slim case, and it still fit comfortably. This surprised me, as many advertised ‘universal’ cases frequently struggle with this. The added space truly made this case a champion for phones of any size!

However, there is a downside. The fingerprint unlock feature did not work through the case. This wasn’t unexpected, but it is certainly worth mentioning to those who rely heavily on biometric security.

Pros:

  • Excellent waterproofing, exceeding expectations.
  • Good underwater photo and video quality.
  • Responsive touchscreen, even underwater (though slightly less sensitive).
  • Accommodates large phones and phones with cases.
  • Two cases included in the package.

Cons:

  • Slightly reduced touchscreen sensitivity underwater.
  • Fingerprint unlock doesn’t work through the case.

Overall, the Ugreen 15566 Waterproof Phone Case (2-pack) is a fantastic product. The excellent waterproof protection, combined with the surprisingly good underwater image quality and ease of use, makes it a worthwhile investment for anyone who needs reliable protection for their phone in wet conditions. While the fingerprint unlock limitation is a minor inconvenience, it doesn’t outweigh the significant benefits provided. I highly recommend this product.
