Over the past few weeks, I’ve been putting these 4PCS Waterproof Underwater Dry Bags to the test. Promising full touchscreen functionality and IPX8 waterproofing down to 100 feet, these cases are marketed for diving, bathing, and underwater photography. But do they live up to the hype? Let’s dive in (pun intended!).

The packaging contained four identical cases. The material is a clear PVC, designed to allow full visibility of your phone’s screen. The cases are surprisingly robust. The seams appear well-sealed, and the elastic lanyard provides a secure way to keep the case around your neck when not actively using your phone underwater. The cases are relatively lightweight and easy to pack.

I tested the cases in a variety of scenarios, including a controlled pool test (to verify the 100-foot claim, which I couldn’t practically test to the full extent) and some real-world beach usage. The touchscreen responsiveness was generally good, though I did find the sensitivity slightly diminished compared to using my phone without a case. This is expected, however, and wasn’t a deal-breaker. The image quality through the clear PVC was excellent. No noticeable distortion or clouding impaired the photos and videos I took. The cases remained completely watertight in all my tests. I purposely submerged them repeatedly for extended periods and didn’t experience any leakage.

One minor issue was the slight difficulty in getting my phone in and out of the case. While not excessively challenging, it did require more time and care than some simpler waterproof bags I’ve used in the past. This trade-off is perhaps worth it for the superior level of protection offered.

Overall, I’m quite impressed with these 4PCS Waterproof Underwater Dry Bags. While there are minor drawbacks concerning touchscreen sensitivity and ease of phone insertion, the superior waterproofing, excellent image quality, and the inclusion of four cases make them an excellent value. I would confidently recommend them to anyone needing reliable waterproof protection for their phone during water-based activities.
