Performance
In real-world usage, the 65Q80C performs exceptionally well. The picture quality is stunning, with rich, accurate colors and deep blacks. The 120Hz refresh rate is noticeable, especially during fast-action scenes, resulting in a smoother, more fluid viewing experience. The AI Upscaling does a great job of enhancing lower-resolution content, although it’s not magic; noticeable pixelation on very low-resolution content will remain. The Tizen operating system is intuitive and responsive. The smart features work seamlessly. Sound quality is decent for a built-in speaker system, though adding a soundbar will significantly improve the overall audio experience. I had no issues with connectivity or streaming services.
The Real Depth Enhancer is a genuinely noticeable feature; viewing 3D content and even standard HD content with it activated really does make a difference. It creates a sense of greater depth in the image that is very impressive.
However, viewing angles could be slightly better; some color shifting is noticeable at extreme angles. Input lag was also marginally higher than some competing models, but this is only noticeable during fast-paced gaming, and for casual gaming its not an issue at all.
Pros & Cons
- Pros: Stunning picture quality, excellent contrast, smooth 120Hz refresh rate, effective AI upscaling, intuitive Tizen OS, abundant connectivity options, impressive Real Depth Enhancer
- Cons: Slightly limited viewing angles, minor input lag during intense gaming, average built-in sound quality.
Final Verdict
The 65Q80C Carbon Silver is a fantastic 65-inch QLED TV that offers exceptional picture quality and a smooth, enjoyable viewing experience. While minor drawbacks exist regarding viewing angles and input lag, these are easily overlooked considering the overall performance. For the price, it represents excellent value. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality, feature-rich Smart TV.
