In terms of sound quality, the Buds 3 (E509A) exceeded my expectations. The dual drivers create a well-balanced audio profile with deep bass, crisp highs, and clear vocals. The noise cancellation is also quite effective, significantly reducing ambient noise on commutes and in busy environments. The 49dB rating is accurate in my experience; it’s not perfect, but it’s certainly amongst the better ANC earbuds at this price point. Battery life, however, fell slightly short of the advertised 44 hours with ANC off. I consistently got around 7 hours with ANC on, and closer to 35 hours with it off, which is still respectable.
The sliding volume control is a gimmick that really works! It’s incredibly intuitive and convenient, especially during workouts.
The dual connection feature worked flawlessly; I switched between my phone and laptop without any hiccups. The fit was comfortable for extended periods, though I did experience some minor discomfort after several hours of continuous use.
Pros:
- Excellent sound quality with balanced bass, treble, and mids.
- Effective 49dB Adaptive Noise Cancellation.
- Innovative and convenient sliding volume control.
- Seamless dual device connection.
- Good battery life (though slightly less than advertised).
- IP55 water and dust resistance.
Cons:
- Minor discomfort after prolonged use.
- Battery life slightly below advertised claims.
Overall, the Buds 3 (E509A) are a solid pair of wireless earbuds offering a compelling combination of features and performance. While the battery life could be slightly improved, the exceptional sound quality, effective noise cancellation, and convenient features make them a strong contender in their price range. I would recommend these earbuds to anyone looking for a reliable and well-rounded listening experience, especially if the sliding volume control appeals to you.
