For months, I’ve been using the Classic Pencil Case, Silicone Pencil Skin (Model: Silicone Pencil Skin), in Midnight Blue. This review details my experience with this Apple Pencil 2nd generation cover, focusing on its protection, usability, and wireless charging compatibility. I’ll be honest; I was initially skeptical, but the Silicon Pencil Skin has exceeded my expectations in several ways.

The Silicone Pencil Skin’s design is deceptively simple. It’s a snug-fitting silicone sleeve that fully encases the Apple Pencil 2. The key selling points are the protective cap, the comfortable grip, and, importantly, its wireless charging compatibility. The cap itself feels secure, preventing accidental loss or damage to the Apple Pencil’s nib. The silicone material offers excellent grip, preventing slips and accidental drops—a significant benefit for anyone who uses their Apple Pencil regularly.

Beyond the practical features, the midnight blue color is subtle yet stylish, complementing the Apple Pencil’s sleek design. It doesn’t feel bulky or interfere with the Apple Pencil’s functionality in any way. Pairing it with my iPad Pro is seamless, with no noticeable impact on the precision or responsiveness of the Apple Pencil.

The Silicon Pencil Skin’s performance centers around protection and ease of use. The silicone material has proven surprisingly durable. I’ve dropped my Apple Pencil (accidentally, of course!) a few times, and the Silicone Pencil Skin has absorbed the impact without any damage to the Pencil itself. The grip is excellent; I’ve found myself having much better control and less hand fatigue during extended drawing and note-taking sessions. The wireless charging functionality works flawlessly. I’ve placed my Apple Pencil on my wireless charging mat numerous times, and the charge rate is comparable to using the Pencil without the case.
