PowerLine III Flow (A8662) USB-C to Lightning Cable Review: Soft, Strong, and Surprisingly Durable

For weeks, the PowerLine III Flow (A8662) has been my daily companion. I’ve subjected it to the rigors of daily life – tossed in bags, snagged on door handles, and even inadvertently sat on. My aim was to put this supposedly ultra-durable and ultra-soft USB-C to Lightning cable through its paces. Does it live up to the hype? Let’s dive in.

The PowerLine III Flow isn’t just another charging cable. Its standout feature is undoubtedly its incredibly soft silicone finish. It feels luxurious to the touch, a stark contrast to the often stiff and plasticky cables I’ve used in the past. This soft exterior belies an impressive strength; the cable feels surprisingly robust despite its supple nature. The claimed 25,000 bend lifespan is certainly reassuring.

Beyond the feel, the cable boasts MFi certification, guaranteeing compatibility and safe, fast charging with all my Lightning devices. The included silicone cable tie is a thoughtful addition, helping keep things tangle-free. The length is perfect for most needs, striking a good balance between portability and reach. The white color adds a sleek touch.

In terms of charging performance, the PowerLine III Flow met expectations. It consistently delivered fast charging speeds when used with a compatible power adapter. I noticed no drop in performance over the testing period, which further validates the claims of its durability. The cable remained remarkably tangle-free even after being repeatedly crammed into my backpack. The flexibility is truly exceptional.

The soft silicone exterior does attract a bit of dust and lint, but a quick wipe cleans it up easily. While the softness is a significant plus, it’s worth noting that this texture might not be for everyone. Some users might prefer a more grippy material.

Overall, this is one of the best USB-C to Lightning cables I’ve ever used, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable, high-quality charging cable.
