Smart Band 8 Pro (BHR8007GL) Review: High-Resolution Large 1.74″ AMOLED Display

The Smart Band 8 Pro (BHR8007GL) arrived on my desk promising a premium smartwatch experience at a competitive price point. With its vibrant 1.74″ AMOLED display and a host of advanced features, it certainly piqued my interest. Over the past few weeks, I’ve put it through its paces, from rigorous workout sessions to everyday wear, to deliver a comprehensive and unbiased review.

The Smart Band 8 Pro boasts a compelling array of features. The standout is undoubtedly the gorgeous 1.74″ AMOLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate and 336 PPI. The Corning GG3 cover glass feels incredibly solid and durable. The ambient light sensor ensures comfortable readability in various lighting conditions. Beyond the display, the health tracking capabilities are impressive. It offers all-day SpO2 monitoring, continuous sleep tracking, 24-hour heart rate monitoring, and even sleep breathing monitoring. The accuracy of these sensors, especially the improved 4-channel heart rate monitoring, was consistently good during my testing. I particularly appreciated the 150+ workout modes, each meticulously recording heart rate and calories burned.

The built-in GNSS support is another significant plus, offering independent positioning via Beidou, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and QZSS. This proved accurate and reliable during my outdoor runs. The addition of 10 on-wrist running courses, complete with vibration and screen light reminders to maintain pace and heart rate targets, added a genuinely helpful coaching element to my workouts. The inclusion of 3D warm-up and relaxation courses is a welcome touch, emphasizing holistic well-being.

Finally, the battery life is exceptionally good. As advertised, it consistently delivered up to 14 days of battery life in typical usage, even exceeding expectations at times. With the Always-On Display (AOD) enabled, it still lasted a respectable 6 days.

In terms of performance, the Smart Band 8 Pro delivered on its promises. The responsiveness of the touchscreen was excellent, and navigating the menu was intuitive. The accuracy of the health and fitness tracking was impressive, consistently matching, and sometimes even surpassing, the results from other devices I’ve tested. The GPS functionality worked flawlessly, providing accurate location data during my runs and outdoor activities. The 5ATM water resistance was also put to the test during swimming, and it performed flawlessly.

While the accuracy of the health metrics was impressive, there were occasional minor hiccups in the software. There were rare instances of minor lag and the occasional need to restart the device to resolve minor glitches. These issues were infrequent and did not significantly impact my overall user experience.

Pros:

  • Stunning 1.74″ AMOLED display
  • Comprehensive health tracking
  • Accurate GPS functionality
  • Excellent battery life
  • Durable build quality
  • 5 ATM Water Resistance
  • Intuitive User Interface

Cons:

  • Occasional minor software glitches
  • Some might find the band a little too bulky.

Overall, the Smart Band 8 Pro (BHR8007GL) is an exceptional smartwatch. Its combination of a stunning display, advanced features, accurate tracking, and impressive battery life makes it a strong contender in its price range. While minor software glitches occasionally popped up, they were infrequent and didn’t detract significantly from the positive user experience. I highly recommend the Smart Band 8 Pro to anyone looking for a feature-rich and reliable fitness tracker with a premium aesthetic.
