Smart Band 8 Pro (BHR8017GL) Review: High-Resolution 1.74″ AMOLED Display
For the past few weeks, I’ve been putting the Smart Band 8 Pro (BHR8017GL) through its paces. This fitness tracker boasts a vibrant 1.74″ AMOLED display and a host of health and fitness features. This in-depth review will cover everything from its daily usage experience to its accuracy in tracking various metrics.
Key Features
The Smart Band 8 Pro doesn’t skimp on features. The standout is undoubtedly the gorgeous 1.74″ AMOLED display with its 60Hz refresh rate and 336 PPI. The Corning GG3 glass adds a significant layer of protection. Beyond the aesthetics, the band includes:
- Advanced 4-channel heart rate and SpO2 monitoring, boasting improved accuracy.
- All-day SpO2, heart rate, and sleep tracking, including sleep breathing monitoring.
- Over 150 workout modes with detailed calorie and heart rate tracking.
- Integrated GNSS support for accurate location tracking during outdoor activities (Beidou, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS).
- 10 built-in on-wrist running courses with real-time feedback and coaching.
- Built-in 3D warm-up and relaxation exercises.
- Up to 14 days of battery life (6 days with AOD enabled).
- 5 ATM water resistance for swimming and other water activities.
- Ambient light sensor for automatic brightness adjustment.
Performance & Accuracy
The Smart Band 8 Pro’s performance is generally impressive. The AMOLED display is bright and crisp, even in direct sunlight. The responsiveness of the touchscreen is excellent. Heart rate tracking seemed accurate when compared to a chest strap monitor, although minor discrepancies were expected. The GPS performed admirably, although I observed a slight delay in acquiring a signal on occasion. The sleep tracking data seemed reliable in terms of sleep stages tracked, but the sleep breathing monitoring would require further investigation in a controlled study.
The battery life is a significant selling point. I consistently achieved over 10 days on a single charge with moderate usage, including daily workouts and notifications. Switching on AOD naturally reduced the battery life.
Pros & Cons
- Stunning AMOLED display
- Accurate health and fitness tracking
- Long battery life
- Excellent GPS performance
- Water resistance
- Comprehensive workout modes
Pros:
- Occasional GPS signal acquisition delay

Final Verdict

While minor imperfections exist, the overall experience is positive. I would confidently recommend this device to anyone looking for a stylish and capable fitness tracker.
