Wireless USB WiFi Adapter 1300Mbps Review: Dual-Band Performance Tested

For weeks, I’ve been putting the Wireless USB WiFi Adapter (1300Mbps) through its paces. This dual-band adapter promises improved range and speed, a claim I’ve been rigorously testing in various locations and conditions. My goal was to determine if this affordable adapter truly delivers on its promises of reliable connectivity and enhanced performance.

Initial setup was straightforward; it really was as simple as plug and play. The included installation CD proved unnecessary in my case as Windows 11 automatically recognized the adapter and installed the necessary drivers without issue. I appreciate the ease of use.

This 1300Mbps adapter boasts several key features designed to enhance its performance. The dual-band functionality (2.4GHz and 5GHz) is a major plus, allowing me to switch between bands depending on my needs. The two 5dBi high-gain antennas are noticeable and are clearly designed to maximize signal strength. The use of a USB 3.0 interface is also promising for improved data transfer speeds. The compact design is ideal for laptop users and its unobtrusive nature is a big plus for those who want a functional but not visually prominent adapter.

Testing the adapter’s performance involved numerous speed tests in different locations within my home. My older, weaker router’s signal is notoriously poor in areas further from the router and through walls. The 1300Mbps adapter performed well, showing a noticeable improvement in connection speed and stability compared to my previous adapter even in my house’s more problematic signal areas. Streaming 4K video was consistently smooth and lag-free. The 5GHz band showed the best improvement. In the 2.4GHz band, I did see slight speed fluctuations, although nothing overly dramatic. Overall performance has been consistently reliable and better than expected at this price point.

I also used this device for online gaming and it performed well. I noticed little to no noticeable lag, even during peak gameplay hours which is very impressive for an inexpensive adapter. However, in a completely different, much larger office environment with a much weaker router, results were noticeably less impressive. I still saw improvement compared to my old adapter, but the improvement here wasn’t as dramatic as in my house.

Pros:

  • Excellent signal reception, even through walls
  • Easy plug-and-play installation
  • Fast transfer speeds, especially on the 5GHz band
  • Good performance for streaming and online gaming
  • Affordable price

Cons:

  • Minor speed fluctuations on 2.4GHz band in some environments.
  • Performance depends significantly on the quality of the router used.

The Wireless USB WiFi Adapter (1300Mbps) exceeded my expectations. For its price, it offers impressive performance and reliability. The improved signal strength and speed are clearly noticeable, particularly the 5GHz band. While minor speed fluctuations did occur occasionally, they weren’t significant enough to detract from the overall positive experience. I would definitely recommend this adapter to anyone looking for a simple, yet effective upgrade to their wireless connection, particularly if their current adapter is struggling with weak signals or unreliable performance.
